To pray, most Jews need to use a Siddur (Jewish prayerbook for daily use) or a Machzor (prayerbook for holiday use). Each denomination of Judaism publishes or authorizes a version(s) that is recommended to use during their particular Synagogue service. Guides to Jewish prayer and commentaries on the Siddur and Machzor expound on the meaning of the prayers as well as the order of the synagogue service.
